PREPARED plenary meeting

The EU-funded PREPARED consortium held its Paris plenary on 6-8 June 2023 at the UNESCO Headquarters in France. The project brings together a network of researchers, funders, policy makers, NGOs, citizens and publishers to create a values-based framework for research ethics and integrity for the next global crisis. EDCTP was represented at the meeting by Dr Michael Makanga (Executive Director) and Dr Michelle Singh (Project Officer).

Highlights from Paris included the renaming of the Global code of conduct to the TRUST code, and the launch of the ‘One seat, one billion people: Advocating for a G21’ policy brief calling on the Group of 20 (G20) to consider representation for 96% of Africa’s population by adding the African Union.
