On 27 June 2022, BCA-WA-ETHICS II and the Africa Bioethics Network kicked off the five-day training programme on the “Fundamentals of research ethics”. Over 130 participants from 31 different countries in East, West, Central, and Southern Africa and Europe attended the training. The training covered a wide range of themes, among others: ethical principles in research, composition and functions of review committees, research design and ethics, informed consent and reaching vulnerable populations.
