On 14 January 2022, the Ministry of Health of São Tomé and Principe created the Ethics Committee of the Ministry of Health, which includes several members of the BERC-Luso project (Biomedical ethics and regulatory capacity building partnership for Portuguese-speaking African countries). Dr Adeonilde Pires dos Santos Aguiar was appointed President of the committee and Dr Jeryson Ramos was appointed to the research section.
