Scope EDCTP2 grants

One-day training on financial and project management of EDCTP2 grants. The workshop will be held in The Hague, the Netherlands, on 22 June 2022. The training is targeted at Europe-based financial and/or project managers of recent EDCTP2 projects from work plans (WP) 2019 and 2020. Other EDCTP2 projects may apply to attend.

The workshop is conducted by Mr Abdoulie Barry, EDCTP Director of Finance and Administration, and Dr Pauline Beattie, EDCTP Operations Manager.

The training includes presentations on the following topics:

  • Multi-beneficiary grants: the relationship between beneficiaries
  • Coordinator role and responsibilities
  • Annex 1 dissected
  • Deliverables and ethics requirements
  • Grant agreement – key financial points
  • Eligible costs
  • Cost categories
  • Special financial rules
  • Financial reporting
  • Financial reviews, audits, site visits
  • Project reporting
  • Documentation (deliverables) and record-keeping
  • Dissemination and exploitation, open access
  • Acknowledging EDCTP

There are 50 places available. Priority will be given to WP2019 and 2020 projects, followed by other projects in order of application.

Please note: more workshops are planned to be organised in Africa in the third and fourth quarters of 2022.

EDCTP cannot provide support for travel or accommodation. Participants have to arrange their own travel and accommodation.

Accommodation

A block booking with preferential rates has been made by EDCTP at hotel Mercure Den Haag Central.
It will expire on 7 June – there are only a limited number of rooms available, and reservations are made on a first-come-first-served basis.

Applicants are advised to apply early and not to make any bookings before participation in the training has been confirmed. The room rate is EUR 127 per room per night including breakfast, excluding city tax (EUR 5.35 per night). In order to make a reservation, a credit card is needed to guarantee the booking.
